Dogan Sevim Succeeds Arnaud Closson as CIRFS President
Doğan SEVIM has been elected by the CIRFS members to take on the role of President at today’s AGM.
He succeeds Arnaud CLOSSON, whose mandate has expired and who will remain a member of the Board as past-President.
Arnaud CLOSSON comments:
“I am very pleased that Doğan SEVIM has been unanimously elected to follow me as CIRFS President. He has been actively involved in CIRFS, amongst others as a Board member. Doğan SEVIM has senior experience and a long and very successful record in the man-made fibres industry. In his current role as Chief Global Sales and Marketing Officer at Kordsa, Dogan has on many occasions highlighted the indispensable contribution of CIRFS to the development of man-made fibres in Europe and its fundamental role in helping the industry to adapt to a global, constrained and ever-changing world.”
Doğan SEVIM adds:
“Arnaud CLOSSON has been a strong supporter of CIRFS during his presidency, underlining the key role CIRFS is playing for the industry in a constantly changing environment. He has accelerated the process of making CIRFS fit for future and I look forward to continuing this mission over the next three years. The European man-made fibres industry has been facing a series of significant challenges recently, amongst others skyrocketing energy costs, supply chain disruptions, recurring global trade distortions and increasing regulatory pressures. Despite these difficulties, our industry continues to demonstrate resilience and has a lot of competitive advantages. It remains one of the most sustainable and innovative industries worldwide, producing high-quality speciality products with outstanding environmental performance, supplying many essential downstream sectors. CIRFS will continue to support the industry in building on these strengths, fostering innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability, and helping to secure a strong and prosperous future for the European man-made fibres sector.”
